I had a few more tidbits from the weekend to add and we will be off of it.
I had a BIG rock next door, when I say big rock I mean about 4-5 ton rock! It has several spots on it that are flat so you can sit on it. When we lived over there, I had a flower garden around it, full of roses, mums, peonies, and several other kinds of flowers mixed in. I had phlox growing around the bottom of it and sometimes I would just sit on my rock and admire my handiwork. The dogs would sit on it while I worked in my garden and so would Little Miss. Even after I took out my flower garden and weeds had grown around it, Little Miss would sit and climb on it. When we moved across the ditch, I tried to think of a way to move it. It had took a bulldozer to move it where it was and Hubby had tried to move it with the Moffet one other time he had it here.
This weekend, while the Moffet was back, I mentioned that I would love to have my rock back. Hubby even said he missed looking out and it being in the front yard. I asked him if he thought the Moffet could roll it across. Well, he was able to roll it a couple of times, then we realized when he got it to the drive that crosses the ditch, it was highly likely that it would roll in the ditch and that would be where it would stay, because there was no way he could roll it up hill. So we sat and thought about it. OK, it was hot and we were looking for a break and this was as good of a reason to sit as any. We decided that if he could get the forks under it, he might be able to get it picked up and moved. He lifted it just a bit on the end and I put blocks under it and he put the forks under it and lo and behold, he was able to get it inches off the ground! Enough that he could cross the yard and move it.
So I now have my rock back where it belongs, with me! I know I can see it in your eyes, but it is just a rock! Oh, but it is so much more than a rock……..
I can easily fit 4 adults on this thing if I wanted to or I can stretch out across it. Not lay on it, but stretch out and read a book if I wanted. I don’t want to, I have a chaise lounge on the porch for that, but I see a new flower garden in the future with that rock as the centerpiece.
Now on to the much talked about slab/shop…. Much clearer and cooler heads took a look at it last night. Just the two of us, no nosey in-laws, no pushy in-laws, no uninvited neighbors who thought their advice was much needed, just me and hubby. We pulled a line across from blocks in each corner, and we threw the line level on and guess what we found out………it is almost level, only off by an inch at the most! We had listened to an idiot and pulled a line that measured 8 inches, the height of the block and measured all the way across, when we found a spot that had less than 8 inches, we added it to the 8 inches, then we got it level from that. Like I said we listened to an idiot! Last night we thought about it and decided there was no way the slab could be off that bad, otherwise if you laid a tool down it would have rolled off into the pasture! So we had the few blocks laid and we pulled a line from it to a block that was sit on the other end. So all of the work building the slab up, all for not! So we got to get a little anger out. For all of those who told us it would not be strong enough or stout enough to hold up a block wall, you can all kiss our little white asses!!!! We liked to never got that damn cement broke up and out of the way!!!!!! A sledge hammer was bouncing off of it the first few blows! So without further ado…….
Please kindly ignore the mess! The Mustang in the background…The Boy’s toy, he hopes to figure out why it won’t run. And of course that is his other toy, the 4×4, it is in the need of a ball joint, he got one, the wrong one, so I guess today he will get the right one and it will be back on the road. He has been car less since Sunday, it has been nice having him at home. Of course he really hasn’t been home, he just hasn’t been driving. The S-15 that would be a borrowed vehicle that is now in need of a motor! Hey, we found a motor, now we just have to get it out of one truck and put in it! And it has over 100,000 miles on it! We didn’t break it, we didn’t tell daddy, but that’s beside the point, no need to get his blood pressure up. See the few blocks in the corner? Yep, laid and sturdy as a rock!
The next major project……..Either killing a bunch of digging dogs or at least fixing the craters in the yard! The yard has more craters than the moon! Don’t believe me? Look!
And that is just a small section of the yard! Yes that is Miley in the one picture, she has a death wish! She runs out there to the dogs, she runs in the house straight to the dog food bowl, the scene of the attack, she thinks she is invincible! Or she wants to die! We can’t decide which.
I was just informed, like 2 minutes ago, that the next project is going to be Little Miss’ fort/playhouse. Apparently that is what we have planned for the weekend! And she is getting Pergo laid in it! Can you believe that? My spoiled ass daughter is getting a wood floor in her playhouse! Also a rope ladder, swings and possibly a slide. There has been mention of electricity, because, as you know, she must have her music and maybe a TV. I don’t know what else they have up their sleeves. I, the Queen High Bitch, is not allowed to get in it, I can work on it, but I can’t actually get in it. The rope ladder is so when she gets in there, she can decide who can get up with her. Her and her father are suppose to spend the first night in it, sleeping bags and all, I am waiting for that to happen. AH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
OK, I feel better. If it is built or started this weekend, I will post pictures.
I ask that you keep Hubby’s Grandmother in your thoughts today. Yesterday they took her to the hospital by ambulance. It was bad if she agreed to an ambulance. She had gone to the ER on Monday, she had been sick all weekend, fever, vomiting and such. The ER ran some test and said she had a kidney infection, they guessed, for her to see her doctor if she didn’t get better.
On Tuesday, she went to the doctor because she couldn’t keep anything down yet and he gave her 5 prescriptions and told her since they couldn’t get any urine, it was most likely a urinary track infection. Well, yesterday something happened, all we can get out of the daughter is , “It was bad!”, and they called in an ambulance. After hours in the ER under observation still not knowing what was wrong, they admitted her. I got a call this morning that she had started having seizures and was moved to the ICU. The kids think she may have had a stroke.
She is well into her 90s and for years said she prayed the Lord would just take her home, she was of no use to anyone, nearly blind and she didn’t want to move in with any of her kids and thought being put in a nursing home was akin to the kids throwing her away.
She is a contrary women whom I have fussed to no end about. Yes, I do feel a bit guilty now. Every year she had me come and paint her yard figures (hens, roosters, raccoons, rabbits, swans, a lawn jockey( she had me paint him as a white guy), lions, bird baths, and gnomes). Yes, she has a lot of shit in her yard. I would spend hours on end painting and fixing these things and she would pay me like 20 dollars and I would tell her she didn’t owe me anything, and she would insist that I take the money because she couldn’t get anyone to do anything for her without she paid them. It wasn’t that they didn’t want to do for her, it was that once she got you to do one thing, she had hooked you for life! I painted things every year, I cleaned out her fridge a couple of times a year, I weeded her flowers and trimmed her flowers, if she had something she needed done, she called me. I was actually suppose to paint her 2 rockers and her glider again this year. I had been waiting for the call. She would even call me when she couldn’t decide what to wear to her doctor’s appointments. And I would fuss and gripe every time she called because she never called to just check in on us, it was always with a purpose. I admit I ignored the phone a time or two, yes I would feel guilty and call her back!
Little Miss often went to visit her. She would come back with flowers, stuffed animals or other things that Grandmother wanted her to have. She ate ice cream cones and candy with her every time she went, in fact grandmother kept ice cream just for Little Miss and Cheetos, because Little Miss used to eat them all the time. Little Miss was upset when she saw the ambulance there, she actually hugged me *gasp* and said she was worried about grandmother. She wanted to go to the hospital, but I convinced her there was nothing she could do there. I guess if grandmother passes, it will be my fault. I guess if she needs to blame someone, better me than anyone else.
Anyway, keep her in your thoughts. His will be done.
I guess I should go and try to accomplish something before the crowd shows up. Hubby could be home early and no one ever knows how long Little Miss will stay at grandma’s before she is bored. So until next time…..
HAVE A GREAT DAY AND THANKS FOR VISITING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
