Welcome back to Day 2 of my holiday update, or WTH was I thinking. If you missed part one, just look at the post below. Otherwise it was….Nana died, Christmas Eve Gatherings x 4, Santa came, killer headache, and Bug engaged. Caught up? No, I’ll wait……..Ready onto Christmas Day Dinner at the MIL’s……..
Oh, the JOY! When asked what time dinner was, all MIL would say was when everyone gets here, no certain time. So dinner was done at 4:00, only no one knew it was done until she called at 5:30. And she was pissed, dinner was cold and if everyone would have gotten there, it would have been fitting to eat. According to her, she should just fling it out to the dogs. Oh, well, if she wants everyone there at a certain time, she should tell someone. I think she was really mad because SIL was at my house and couldn’t go to her house. And to make matters worse, Easy E and Wifey didn’t come.
From there, yes, there is more…… We went to my mom and dad’s house for gift bags with my aunt, dad’s sister. She gives us the greatest bags!! I love these bags, you never know what will be in them. She hits closeouts, clearance sales, freebie aisles, you name it if it is cheap or free, she is there. She picks stuff up all year and puts it in a box in the attic and at Thanksgiving she drags it all out and divides it up into bags for each person. This year in my bag……holiday hand towel, angel ornament, lotion, a manicure set, a candle, socks, a book of home remedies, a book of 100 uses for vinegar, potato chip bag clip, an adjustable measuring cup and spoon, coke can covers with bee guards, a small bag of Ghirardelli Chocolate Caramel coffee (Hubby got Jack Daniels coffee, yum) and more stuff than I can remember. The men all gets ball caps instead of hand towels. I love these bags, it’s like a treasure chest.
After we visited for a while we headed home and hubby got on the computer and piddled around and I played Wii with Little Miss.
Friday was play day I guess. I played Wii with Little Miss most of the day. Hubby piddled outside, The Boy he was in and out of the yard all day. I played “Meet the Robinson’s” for over 4 hours! I could grow to hate this game, I have gotten addicted I guess. It has these missions and I just couldn’t quit until I finished a mission and it was making me think! I actually had to use my brain! I hate that!!!! If it hadn’t been for Little Miss, I would have never found my way around in this game, I kept getting lost. We also bowled, rode a cow, played pool and shot stuff, we laughed until my sides hurt! We were having a ball, until…….
Dinner at MIL’s AGAIN!!!!!!! I was pleasantly surprised to find out she had done finger foods and it was better than her usual meal! Meatballs in BBQ sauce, Lil’ Smokies in BBQ sauce, nachos and cheese, ham and cheese wrapped in croissants, cheese squares, spinach dip and Ritz crackers, sweet bread with some sort of orange dip, sausage balls, chocolate covered pretzels and a lot more. I ate until I almost burst! It was a nice change for her. Easy E called and said Wifey had to work all day and she was feeling bad so they wouldn’t make it, but otherwise it went well. The kids opened gifts and surprise were actually happy with what they got. Little Miss got a DS game, a Wii game and a Fur Real puppy.
Then we did Dirty Santa, the game I always get screwed at. I got #2 and what did I get?…………….I got……………Drum roll please………………A GOOD GIFT!!!!!!! I got a casserole dish, not the one I took, but something actually for a woman!!!!
Bug was a little upset, she had wanted to announce her engagement but the word was already out, there was some discussion as to who actually let the word out, we decided to blame Red. The Boy left out early. We came home and hubby got back on the computer, I swear when he is at home he is on the computer, me and Little Miss played Wii.
The Boy rolled in around 2am with girlfriend in tow! I am not real “cool” with him bringing his girlfriend home to spend the night. Yes, found out it is a girlfriend! I really must sit him down and have a long talk with him.
On Saturday the Hellions were at MIL’s so Little Miss played outside most of the day. I cleaned the house, complete with The Boy and Little Miss’ rooms! They were awful! Hellion #1 brought Guitar Hero into the house, he is like an expert or something at it. *insert eye roll here* He is good at it, but he knows it and brags about how good he is! I just want to smack the crap out of him. Constantly taking controllers away from the others to “show” them how to do it.
Little Miss spent the night with SIL and her step granddaughter. The Boy’s girlfriend stayed again. I have heard a bit of her story from outside sources and I feel a little better about letting her stay, but I am still not real happy with them sharing a room!. I guess I can’t complain, it was Saturday night and The Boy was home all night! She seems like she may be good for him.
Little Miss came home early on Sunday morning. We went to clean the office and as soon as we got home, I started feeling woozy. Crampy, achy, just all over crappy! Hubby was in and out all day trying to avoid company. His cousin is off for the next couple of months and he hates to stay at home with his wife and kids, but he gets on hubby’s nerves being over here all the time. I bet he made like a hundred trips over here that day! Little Miss spent the night with Grandma. I sat around and felt awful most of the evening. The Boy and The Girl were here then she got a call and they said they would be back in an hour or so and they left. The Boy was back in 5 minutes, apparently she just wanted him to take her to meet her friend and then they would bring her home. He came in mad!!! She came in about an hour later, I guess they worked everything out.
Well, that brings us to Monday and I still felt bad but I managed to wash clothes and get the house straightened up again. Little Miss came home and wanted to play Wii, but I told her I just didn’t feel like it. Hubby worked and came in ill as a hornet. I hate when he is off a few days he just don’t want to go back to work. The Boy had over night company again, I swear I think she has moved in.
It is a short week, but I should be here tomorrow, but then I will be off until Monday again. I will be so glad when all this holiday stuff is over and life gets back to normal! So until next time……………..
